FYD empowers youths at World Maritime University (WMU)

On Monday 6th May 2014 and Tuesday 7th May 2014, a total of Seventy One (71) delegated departed Lagos, Nigeria for Sweden. The students arrived in Malmo, Sweden

and were received by officials from the Nigerian Embassy in Sweden and school officials.

Upon arrival at Malmo, the students then proceeded to their hostels and were allocated rooms and breakfast was served, before heading off for orientation and introduction. The orientation and introduction was conducted by lecturers of World Maritime University (WMU) and Copenhagen Malmo Maritime Academy (CMMA), Police deputy Superintendent and the deputy mayor of the city of Malmo.

The students were briefed on the local laws of Malmo, Security tips amongst others.


The students will study at Copenhagen Malmo Maritime Academy for a period of fifteen  months. There programme is broken down into nine months shore based and six months Sea time.
