Niger Delta Amnesty Training Programme

This training program is needed to contribute positively towards the amnesty program of the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) as its aimed at improving the

poor socio-economic development, poverty and illiteracy has been linked to the low status of Niger Delta youths.

This training would create opportunities for the Ex-agitators to channel their energies for positively rewarding productive activities.

This training has been geared towards having a positive impact on the human capital development of the Niger Delta region which will transcend Amnesty. This training is also aimed at improving the basic social service (primary education) of the Niger Delta region though FYD foundational trainings. This training will provide the Ex-agitators with requisite skills set needed in today™s sophisticated world.


ORIENTATION: Orientation ceremony for the trainees was held at Welcome Center, Ikeja, Lagos on the 28th August, 2012. The ceremony was both colourful and memorable.

DEPARTURE: The 94 trainees who are to be trained on maritime training at Haiphong Polytechnics College, Vietnam departed Lagos in four batches and arrived Hanoi as scheduled. The four batches were received at the airport by the embassy staff (Mr Abuah) who made sure they were cleared on time by the immigration. The school was always on the ground before trainees’ arrival and arrangement was made to convey the trainees to the college at Haiphong.
